2023 Nissan Qashqai has announced the pricing of its vital new Qashqai small SUV ahead of launch later this year, starting at $33,890 before on-road costs.
This appears to be a thoroughly upgraded offering in terms of performance, specs, security, and design – but buyers will pay more for the privilege.
The delayed new generation 2023 Nissan Qashqai will enter Australian showrooms in the fourth quarter of 2022 to challenge the Mazda CX-30, the soon-to-be-updated Kia Seltos, the newly launched Honda HR-V, the soon-to-be-launched Toyota Corolla Cross, among a myriad of others.
European-designed and British-made, the third generation of Nissan’s small SUV is a substantial update to its predecessor model – which is now sold out.
Nissan Australia previously said the 2023 Nissan Qashqai would arrive in early 2022. The vehicle was revealed in February 2021.
The New 2023 Nissan Qashqai will be one of four new models rolling out to around 180 Nissan Australia dealerships in the second half of the year, the others being the new Z coupe, X-Trail medium SUV and Pathfinder large SUV.
This means that starting in 2023, Nissan Australia will move from one of the oldest product lines among the big brands to one of the newest.

Compared to its predecessor, buyers of the cheapest new 2023 Nissan Qashqai now get a larger 8.0-inch touchscreen, LED headlights, an enlarged 7.0-inch digital instrument display, and a full suite of advanced safety technologies.
The outgoing 2023 Nissan Qashqai ST offers autonomous emergency braking (AEB) and lane departure warning as standard, but the new model features an updated AEB system with a pedestrian, cyclist, and crossing support, reverse AEB, fixed lane assist, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, traffic sign recognition, and adaptive cruise control.
There is also a center airbag placed between the front passengers, which has contributed to the five-star Euro NCAP safety rating overseas – although local agency ANCAP has yet to announce similar scores for Australia and New Zealand.
Meanwhile, justifying the flagship Ti’s $8300 price hike is a fully digital 12.3-inch instrument cluster, an enlarged 12.3-inch touchscreen, a 10.8-inch heads-up display, memory, and massage for the front seats, and a 10-speaker Bose stereo. , wireless phone charging, and a heated steering wheel.

2023 Nissan Qashqai Specs
Powering all 2023 Nissan Qashqai variants at launch is the new 1.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine used in various Renault and Mercedes-Benz cars, to replace the old 2.0-liter Qashqai engine, which was used in various forms for nearly 15 years.

The new turbo mill develops 110kW and 250Nm – up 4kW/50Nm – and drives the front wheels only via a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT), with no more six-speed manual options.
Despite not having the mild hybrid system available in Europe, the Australian market 2023 Nissan Qashqai petrol model still manages a claimed fuel economy figure of 6.1 liters per 100 kilometers in combined driving – down from the older model’s 6.9L/100km.
The E-Power hybrid (below) to be released at a later date (click here for full details), uses a 115kW turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder petrol engine as a generator to charge the battery, which in turn drives a 140kW/330Nm electric motor. on the front axle.
Nissan’s design contrasts with Toyota’s, which allows its wheels to be powered by a gasoline engine and/or electric motor. According to Nissan, the E-Power delivers “the driving [experience] associated with a pure EV [electric vehicle], but without the need for recharging”.
The previous E-Power will be in showrooms at the end of 2022; Drive has contacted Nissan Australia to confirm the latest update on launch timings. Pricing for the hybrid has yet to be confirmed.
Eight single-tone colors are available throughout the range: Magnetic Blue, Gun Metallic (grey), Ceramic Grey, Platinum (silver), Burgundy, Fuji Sunset Red, Ivory Pearl (white) and Pearl Black. All except Magnetic Blue are charged extra.
ST+, ST-L, and Ti buyers can also choose from five two-tone color schemes: Ivory Pearl, Fuji Sunset Red, Ceramic Gray, and Magnetic Blue with a Pearl Black roof, or Pearl Black with a Gun Metallic roof.
