2024 Nissan Sentra remains a competent and comfortable, budget-friendly 5-passenger compact sedan and its fuel pump is good. The 2023 center should only see minor cosmetic changes or adjustments to the available options, as the current model only comes from the 2020 model year.
Since Nissan’s compact sedan of this generation was introduced, more safety features and technology have been installed as standard at every trim level.
The 2023 Nissan Sentra is a tempting choice among small and affordable sedans. As with many cars in this class, Sentra provides many features for the money and is loaded with the latest safety technology. Unfortunately, it is held back by a rather weak engine, an outdated infotainment system, and a longer-than-average braking distance.
We would like to say that this issue will be addressed in the 2023 model year, but it is very likely that Sentra will return largely unchanged. As a result, we believe you will be better served by the Honda Civic, Kia Forte or Hyundai Elantra which are all rated higher than Sentra. These alternatives have their faults, but they are much more excusable, as listed in our Central Expert Rankings below.

2024 Nissan Sentra Reviews
As for the Nissan Model in 2024, we expect refreshments from various sides. It is necessary to understand that a total refresh has occurred in 2020. However, even though we cannot confirm that a refresher is being carried out, we estimate that it will not be too drastic a refresher that will occur.

As of now, we have not been able to confirm any design changes in the next Sentra. The 2024 Nissan Sentra refresh usually comes with a fascia grille, and slightly updated front and rear lights. Coupled with interior refreshments in the form of a slightly larger display screen and other options for upholstery materials.
On the powertrain options side, it seems that the 2024 Nissan Sentra is featured with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that comes with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) which will certainly produce 149 horsepower and 146 lb-ft of torque.
The EPA tops at 29 mpg city then 39 mpg highway and 33 mpg combined. Of course, our speculation is that the 2024 Nissan Sentra refresh will introduce a new independent rear suspension. Of course, this will make the new Sentra model able to improve ride, handling, and fuel economy.
It is also possible that the performance version of the 2024 Nissan Sentra will come with a 1.6-liter turbo four-cylinder engine.
Infotainment
The infotainment system is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Wi-Fi hot spots are optional, and each Center is equipped with a front collision warning system that has automatic emergency braking. The 2023 Nissan Center also has blind spot monitoring, rear automatic emergency braking, and standard automatic spotlights.
It should be noted that many of these safety items – especially reverse automatic braking and blind-spot monitors – are more expensive for cars that cost thousands more than Sentra. So in terms of safety and value, the Nissan Sentra got a high score.

2024 Nissan Sentra Performance
As far as we’re concerned Nissan Sentra acceleration isn’t bad, but the Sentra loses power as you pick up speed. We measured a time of 0-60 mph in 8.8 seconds. That’s slightly below average for the small sedan class but similar to other sluggish cars like the Kia Forte and Toyota Corolla. In routine driving, the 2024 Nissan Sentra continuous variable automatic transmission is smooth and unobtrusive. But it doesn’t provide much of an engine braking effect when you release the gas, so you may need to use more brakes than you’d expect when slowing down.
The brake pedal is smooth and easy to control in everyday use. However, the performance of emergency braking is substandard. Our testing center needs 131 feet to stop from 60 mph. For context, the segment averages about 123 feet. Steering and handling are mediocre but should be sufficient for the average owner for everyday use.
Comfort is one of the more powerful attributes of the 2024 Nissan Sentra. The journey was very quiet and easily smoothed out the imperfections of the road. This softness, however, can make the Center feel floating at a higher speed. Street noise is always there but never distracting, and the stereo can’t easily cover it up.
The front seats have decent cushions and supports. The best chair in the house was surprisingly found in the back. They are luxurious, comfortable, and accommodating for two average-sized adults. The climate control system is not very powerful, but the airflow coverage from the vents is good. Our test car didn’t have a rear air vent, but it was typical for this class.
The advantage of this small Nissan sedan lies in the way it drives over its competitors. While the 2024 Nissan Sentra 149-horsepower 4-cylinder engine and variable continuous automatic transmission (CVT) deliver strong fuel economy, the powertrain is far from the most powerful or the most fuel-efficient on the market of compact sedans. The Honda Civic and Mazda3 are more fun to drive, for example, while the Toyota Corolla offers great mileage (especially on the hybrid trim).
If there are flaws in the 2023 Nissan Sentra this is it: No model that is particularly sporty (like the SE-R) or a hybrid variant can squeeze 53 miles out of a gallon of gasoline (like a can of the Corolla Hybrid).
At least the cabin has a classy look and feels, considering the attractive price of the Center. And the trunk, measuring 14.3 cubic feet, holds a lot of gear.
2024 Nissan Sentra Interior
The controls are easily accessible for both the driver and passengers and are easy to understand whether tuning the radio or adjusting climate control. The 8-inch touchscreen is also easy to read and use.

There is plenty of interior space for front residents. The rear legroom is among the most spacious in its segment. Most drivers will find it easy to adjust to a comfortable driving position thanks to the variety of decent tunings that come from the seat and steering wheel. The forward and side visibility is quite good, but the thick rear roof pillars and sloping rear windows block the visibility back and back.
The center comes with many standard safety features and driver aids. Adaptive cruise control and a 360-degree parking camera system are still options, but Nissan’s overall standard safety suite is quite generous. However, we experienced some glitches with backup cameras and one false alarm with a front collision warning system in our test car.
The infotainment system is a bit slow to respond and the graphics look dated, but you get Apple CarPlay integration and Android Auto smartphones as standard. Nissan does not offer an onboard navigation system.
MPG
We estimate the Center to reach a combined 33 mpg that the EPA estimates (29 cities/39 highways), which is the average for vehicles with base engines in this class. We observed 28.7 mpg during three tank fillings in our test vehicle, with the best filling of 32 mpg. That’s slightly below what we expected given the EPA figures.

2024 Nissan Sentra Price
We estimate the 2024 Nissan Sentra with standard trim has a starting price of around $22,000, plus the cost of the destination. In SR trim and loaded with every facility available, the 2024 Nissan Sentra rings at around $28,000. These include cosmetic embellishments such as larger alloy wheels and 2-color exterior paint.

Of course, this refresh can still be said to be speculative, with regards to the release date we cannot confirm it for sure, but the next 2024 Nissan Sentra will most likely be out at the end of 2023.
